In the early morning hours of 4 February
1976, an earthquake hit Guatemala. |
I was a missionary serving in the Guatemalan town of Comalapa. At 3:02am, Wednesday, February 4, 1976, Mother Earth let all hell break loose with a 45-second earthquake that measured 7.6 on the Richter scale (90 times stronger than the earthquake that leveled Managua, Nicaragua in 1972). The wall by the side of my bed gave way and about 200 pounds of adobe covered my bed... |
